Many things typify “summer”, like ice cream, picnics, baseball, long and lazy nights, iced drinks, and kids underfoot instead of at school. Week Four of our Explore the Summer series offers several additional summer icons, including the first county fair (Putnam), the leadoff Independence Day fireworks celebration (Luna Pier and Swanton), a Rib-off (Henry County), one of the area premier juried arts festivals (Crosby) and camping after a Mudhens game.
Besides these special events, the area is dotted with great musical acts performing outside along with community events galore. As the weather passes from (hopefully) monsoon to fully engaged summer, the western shores of Lake Erie are finally showing why this is one of the best communities to kick back, relax and enjoy the summer. Check out our entertainment and community calendars for more details.
