Crack, Boom, Bang!

Summer’s Quintessential Event “Booms” Accross the Region

“Do they have 4th of July in England?”
“Yes”
–Dad Joke Repeated Every Independence Day

One of the great things about living on the shores of a Great Lake is that we have just enough “resort” surrounding our neighborhood to really put on glitzy Independence Day shows. In 2019 none of our neighbors are disappointing. There is an explosive array of fireworks shows and festivals over the week-long holiday that is bound to satisfy even the biggest fireworks fans.

Besides the usual booms and bangs, many local communities are taking advantage of the weekend to throw good old hootenannies. And yes, we said “hootenanny.” With so much going on over the long holiday week there is no reason to sit around the house and watch…well…Independence Day.

Check our entertainment and community calendars for all the week’s activities. From picnics to pyrotechnics, food trucks to fireworks, our region is commemorating our nation’s independence in style!
