An interesting week as we browsed around our great local markets. A couple of very seasonal favorites make an appearance (smelt) along with new lines of local and organic products. This week our shoppers visited The Anderson’s (Maumee), Walt Churchill’s Market (Perrysburg), Monnette’s (Secor) and Fresh Market.
Smelt makes its first appearance. Plus two new chips at The Anderson’s, lemon blueberry cookies, and finally caramelized onion cheese spread. The Anderson’s never disappoints.
We like all things Brussel Sprout, so we highlight the sweet and sour sprouts for the WCM deli. The Hake looked nice, there is a coffee alternative, and a strongly represented line of organic groceries.
Some great looking fresh vegetables this week at Monnette’s, making us want to do a salad night. Also Meyer lemons and one of our favorite deli salads!
It may not be sausage week at Fresh Market but they certainly have a wide variety this week at a good price. Plus creme brûlée cookies, truffle flavored popcorn, and a wide selection of specialty sodas sold individually. Finally, check out the bay scallops.
